Purulia Dispensary

In recent numbers of the Lancct Sir Joseph Fayrer has given his experience of Thrombosis of the l'ulmonary artery and the formation of decolourized fibrinous clots in the right cavities of the heart, as a cause of death after surgical operations or injuries, and in cases of malarious fever. In 1874 or 1875, when Civil Surgeon of Pooree, I published in this journal notes of a case of sudden death due to the formation of ante-mortem clots in the right cavities of the heart and pulmonary artery; the patient had been a martyr to fever and had the characteristic malarial cachexia. The two following cases recently occurred in the Purulia Dispensary : one was a severe case of bear-bite, the other of double amputation; in both fibrinous clots were found in the right cavities of the heart.
